How a tailor-made safari works
Most of our journeys are not booked off the page. They start as a conversation, and what we build is shaped by four things: how many days you have, which animals or landscapes matter most to you, how you like to travel, and when you can go.
Everything on this site can be changed — the parks, the order you visit them, the pace, the standard of accommodation, whether you drive or fly between camps. We can also start from nothing, if you would rather describe the trip you want and let us work out how to build it.
You deal with one planner throughout. The same person who designs the route confirms the camps, briefs your guide and is reachable while you are travelling.

What you decide, and what we handle
1. Tell us what matters. Dates, rough duration, how many of you, and what you most want from the trip. If you are not sure, say so — that is a normal place to start.
2. We design the route. You get a day-by-day itinerary with the parks, the driving or flying between them, where you would sleep and what each day looks like.
3. You change it. Most people do. Longer in one park, a different camp, a slower start, a beach at the end. There is no limit on revisions and no charge for them.
4. We run it. Once you are happy, we confirm everything, brief your guide, and stay reachable throughout the journey.
Start from an itinerary, or from nothing
There are two ways in. Take any itinerary on this site and change it — that is the quicker route, and it works well if something is already close to what you want. Or start from a blank page and describe the trip, and we will propose a route from scratch.
Neither costs more than the other. The second just takes a little longer to get right.
What people ask us to build in
The requests we get most often: more time with the big cats, fewer vehicles at sightings, a conservancy rather than the main reserve, walking or night drives, a photographic vehicle, a Maasai village visit, a hot air balloon over the Mara, a few days on the coast afterwards, or a honeymoon arranged without it being announced to every camp.
